    Default Digital Camcorder - Recommendations?

    Does anybody have any advice on digital camcorders to purchase? There seem to be so many out there available to buy. Are they all much of a muchness? Want to get one to capture those first few month baby moments with young Harry. How are you meant to start choosing?

    Not sure about camcorders, but I bought a Panasonic Lumix TZ7 recently.

    This is a 10Megapixel, 12x optical zoom camera. Apaarently takes the best photos in it's class, before moving up to SLRs. It takes HD video as well (up to 15min clips, as many clips as your memory card can handle).

    Might be worth considering?

    I just bought the wife a one for Xmas, depends on how much you want to spend like.
    From what I read a camera will take great photos but not so great video and vice versa.
    If you want to go HD camcorder then your talking £350+
    If like me HD isnt so much of an issue ten you can pick them up from £120+
    How much you looking to spend?

    Cheers fella. Probably between 120 - 150 sheets like. Not so bothered about HD quality as we'll rarely be playing it back on a screen any bigger than a laptop.

    This seems good for the money;

    Looks a good deal - it seems that Panasonic, Canon and JVC are best at the budget end. The Sonys seem good, but like all Sony stuff they're a little overpriced.

    Dont forget you also need a SD card as well like, the JVC one has dual card slots so plenty of room for expansion, 2x 32GB if you so wish.
