Default I think it would surprise me if a club like Sunderland had any knee-jerk reaction.

"It is still early days in the season and Steve is in the throes of putting together a new team "

Hodgson said: "Steve is a good manager and has done a remarkable job wherever he has been."

He did remarkably well to get Birmingham relegated, and eats a remarkable amount of pork pies, but I cant think of anything else remarkable about him.

Typical cliched manager talk. He's hardly going to say that Bruce is a clueless oaf who hasn't got a clue what he's doing is he?

There was no summer spending spree. The club funded it by selling Henderson and still had the Bent money.
