Default The Football Echo - Do you buy it?

Only really applies to those that still live in the area? Just wondering what proportion of people on here buy the footy echo on a weekend regardless of the result. I think there should be bit of a campaign to support it and make sure it doesn't go the same way is almost all of the other football specials, including the Newcastle Pink that bit the dust a couple of years ago.

Yes, something to read on the metro home after the match.

I live about 10 miles from Sunderland so it's not readily available, I can only think of 2 shops that stock it locally and means a car drive to buy it. As I've always been at the match and had a drink that rules it out unfortunately.
Would be gutted if it did go though, bit of an institution really.

Good point I always buy it regardless of the result. Never really understand why people buy it if SAFC win when you consider the match report is 2 pages and the headlines on the front page refers to the match that day. I don't always read the match report and I am more interested in whats in the rest of the paper.

There only 3 other Football Echo type papers left in the country so yes I think we should buy it more or it will be no longer.

Yeah I still get it most weeks, but having said that, if we've lost its the last thing I wanna see. It does its job like, match reports, results, tables and a few interviews, but sadly it will probably will die off, as you can get most of that info on the interweb.

I'll have you know the subscriptions dept is a significant element - lots of exiles take it and its normally there on Monday morning which is good.

I thought it was def coming to an end though - chance of a reprieve or no def withdrawal plan yet.
