    Default Michael Liddle

In discussions over a new contract.

Anybody seen much of the lad, been on the fringes for a few seasons now?

Always looked one of the better players when I've watched the reserves, but seems too small and lightweight to make it in the Premiership IMO. canny defender.

Without seeing much of him after a pretty average loan spell at Carlisle I didn't expect him to cut it.

In saying that I've noticed both Bruce and a few of the players speaking highly of him recently so it seems like he will at least be given a shot.

Another in a long list of overhyped youthies. Might as well get shot while someone might stump up a nominal fee.

A good friend of mine watched him regularly at Carlisle. My marra said ML had bags of talent, good pace but was small in stature & tended to get bullied. That was a year or so back.

Does that matter as long as he's professional? i.e. has more brains than Clark, Chopra etc.

Saw him a bit when at Carlisle (I was working there at the time so used to pop along).

He looked good on the ball, good going forward, too lightweight, hopelessly caught out on a regular basis defensively, started off popular with home fans then became one of the main boo boys.

In his defence, he was in a side that was plummeting towards relegation, with a desperate defence at that time, and the Carlisle fans do get on their team's backs when things are going wrong (good idea to send a SAFC youth there by way of preparation), but he certainly didnt look to me at that time like someone who had the strength to make it.

    Hope Im wrong.
