Sheet music is crazy expensive. I'm assuming it is subject to similar copyright as books? Is there somewhere you can download out of copyright manuscripts?

Pretty much the same as books. Copywright expires seventy years following the death of the last known author/composer.

And there are plenty. I use one for downloading piano music but I can't remember the site...
