Why isn't he getting the same hype from the media that Jordan Henderson received?

Serious question. He's a better player - what was it about Henderson that got him immediately into the spotlight?

Henderson was much better at pointing than Colback is.

Henderson is the archetypal English midfielder. He runs and runs and runs...like other central midfielders who failed to live up to the hype of this ilk, eg Jenas. It took Scholes years to be recognised for what he was (not saying Jack is as good as him) but its always the understated players who hover under the radar while the ones who have great engines get the plaudits.

Henderson won us a couple of games and looked superb when he first came in. Bruce did an excellent job of hyping him up. Colback is just quietly getting on with it and long may it continue.

Henderson used to do the odd eye catching nutmeg/cross which would feature on MOTD

    And long may it continue.

Colback has been better this season than Henderson was in his last year with us. IMO.

Fair enough, Hendo played every game and looked knackered, whereas Colback has been in and out of the team from week to week. But he looks fresh and full of energy and confident.

Henderson was better on MOTD, Colback's better if you watch the whole game. We watch the whole game, but the media only watch the highlights.

    Forgot about that.

Still not convinced we've got a definite reason as to why he was hyped up more than Colback. Henderson doesn't have anything in his locker that suggests he is top class - he's not really that quick, isn't skillful and isn't imposing, like a Gerrard or Lampard type of midfielder. He rarely scores, goes missing in big games and his range of passing does not come close to that of Colback's.

Don't get me wrong - I think Jordan is a decent player with a bright future, but he was hyped up so much that he ended up in the England squad and as a result we received big money for an average player.
