Smile Folk 'n' ale trip to Hathersage, Saturday May 12th

If anyone fancies a few pre-Man Utd beers next Saturday (May 12th) why not join a few branch members on the regular folk music train from Manchester Piccadilly to Hathersage in the Peak District.

It's a good day out, leaving Piccadilly at 11.45; songs and music on the train with excellent NW folkie Geoff Higginbottom (everything from Simon & Garfunkel, to Johnny Cash, the Beatles and Ewan MacColl!). Enjoy a few beers in the Little John Hotel, Hathersage (food available); more songs in the pub and return on the 14.32 - or stay on in the boozer, if you prefer.

You can also board the train at Bredbury, Romiley, Marple and New Mills Central (pse check times) and the entertainment is free - all you have to pay is the train fare.

Further details at www.hvhptp.org.uk/folktran.htm or contact me via manchesterbranch@hotmail. co.uk

Hope to see one or two of you on the 12th - as well as the 13th!
