Police are appealing for witnesses after a man came off a motorbike in Sunderland.
At around 8.50am this morning, Thursday April 14, an incident happened on Oxford Street, at the junction of Edwin Street involving a Yamaha motorbike and a VW car.

Paramedics treated the driver of the bike, a 22-year-old man, however, he was later pronounced dead at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The driver of the car, a 57-year-old woman, was treated for shock but otherwise uninjured.

Work just round the corner from it. Walked past the bottom of the street on my way to work this morning and saw an ambulance and paramadic up there with a couple of people looking on.

Just thought some old biddy can passed away in her house or summit but then heard there had been a death.

They had the road closed so had to be summit nasty.
