    Default School Sports Day

My daughter came first in 2 races, second in 1 and fourth in another (I'll stopher pocket money for that).

Is it politically incorrect to punch the air when your kid trounces other kids.

    Sprint
    Egg and Spoon
    Shopping basket race
    Hula Hoop race

I was disappointed to see sack race and three-legged race was dropped from the line up (H&S probably).

....and yes, I bottled the Dad's race

so they did 1 on 1 racing.. all ours was relay type stuff with 6 or so in each team. Juniors they start getting more competative but still some relay stuff.

My eldest came 4th in the school 1km run mind so was happy with that especailly since she ran in plimsolls cos I forgot to give her her trainers that morning

T-shirt over the head would of been good. Or better still, you could of grabbed her hand and done the old run and front slide in front of the other parents.

The new Minister for Sport and Olympics was on TalkSport the other day and I was pleased to hear that the tories will be encouraging competitive sport in schools because it teaches good life lessons in winning and losing. The loony left would have us all crossing the finishing line together.

I'm all for competiveness although I think junior is really early enough to start it proper at age 7... 5,6 year olds need confidence at first.
