Gyan is a fucking nutter

NEWCASTLE have the Toon Army and now bitter rivals Sunderland can boast their own Tune Army, led by record signing Asamoah Gyan.
The £13m striker doesn’t just plan to hit all the right notes on the pitch – where he hopes to follow in the footsteps of his football hero Eric Cantona – but he also wants to be a big noise off it, too.
And that could be music to the ears of his Sunderland team-mates, who rarely reproduce their Stadium of Light form on their travels.

The Ghana international will be involved at Wigan tomorrow, with the Black Cats bidding for only their third away win since Steve Bruce took charge 15 months ago.
But if anyone is feeling anxious just before kick-off, Gyan knows just how to ease their nerves. “I sing from morning to evening,” said the 24-year-old, who writes his own music and has even made a record back home.
“With the national team, everyone knows I can sing and so maybe I’ll sing to my new team-mates.
“Music is my life after football. Some players like to play golf, I like music. My friends play instruments and I sing.
“I listen to hip hop, dance and any music if the rhythm is good.
“I play the drums, but they are still in Rennes. I will bring them over later.
“I’m somebody who makes people happy. I know how to psyche myself and others. I take the pressure off them because I’m a funny guy.
“Psychologically there will be somebody who is very tense in the dressing room, so you have to make them laugh to free them. That is my job.”
The charismatic African, who cites Manchester United legend Cantona as his idol, struck a chord with Bruce long before he emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup in South Africa. Yet his move from French club Rennes was only finalised 20 minutes before last month’s transfer deadline.
Gyan, recruited to share goalscoring duties with the prolific Darren Bent, should prove a box-office attraction if his footballing philosophy is anything to go by.
“As a striker, you have to make the impossible possible,” he said. “That’s what makes a good striker.
“African strikers like Samuel Eto’o, (Didier) Drogba, (Emmanuel) Adebayor and (Fredi) Kanoute are the ones who inspire me.
“And Cantona. He scored incredible goals, unexpected goals. As a striker, you have to do that. Alan Shearer was another great one.”
Gyan will wear the No.33 shirt for Sunderland, but only because Kieran Richardson has already taken his lucky No.3. The hitman has had the number cut into his hair on both sides of his head and also wears a No.3 medallion.
He said: “When I couldn’t have my lucky number, I rang my brother, who said, ‘Take No.33’. I have done that and we will see what happens.
“Three is the shirt I wore as a teenager in Ghana. It is a powerful number.
“I’ll give you an example. If you are lifting something heavy, you count to three before you lift. If you want to warn someone, you warn them once, then twice and the third time you take action.”
Appropriately, Gyan scored three goals in South Africa, though it is the one that got away that he is best remembered for, firing a last-gasp penalty against the woodwork after Uruguay’s Luis Suarez’s infamous handball on the goalline.
“I have forgiven him,” added Gyan. “If it was me, I’d have done the same thing.
“He made himself a hero in his country. It was cheating, but he got Uruguay into the semi-finals.
“Maybe I’ll have to do that in an important game for Sunderland.”
Gyan insists he is no longer haunted by that quarter-final miss, saying: “Mentally I am very strong. You could see that when I came straight back and scored in the shoot-out.
“Darren’s the penalty taker here, so it is up to him to decide, but perhaps he will give me a chance one day.”

I love him already. What a fruit loop!

Re: Gyan is a fucking nutter
He certainly can talk like. I'll judge him in about 5 games, don't expect a lot from him down Wigan tbh.

I can just picture him soothing Cattermole in the dressing room by singing to him.
There will be blood......
