Default Chelsea are back in form.

Drogba back to fitness form and strength.

Lampard back to fitness and improving form.

Anelka has had a kick in the backside with Torres signing.

Kalou is very good player and underrated.

    Cole is relentless.

    Dodgy central defending but,

    Torres and Luiz to come.

Are they too far behind United?

They need to win both of their games against them to have a chance

I don't know how United have managed to stay unbeaten. The way they're playing, they're definitely due a blip in results and Chelsea could capitalise.

The two meetings are going to be crucial, like.

Couldn't believe some of the "Lost causes" they managed to somehow retrieve.
Against lesser teams you're almost certain that you know a ball is going to run out of play. Against Chelsea, they not only manage to keep lost balls in play, they actually manage to turn it into a goalscoring opportunity.

Default Chelsea - absolutely superb team (and Gordon is world class)

My take on the game tonight:

Firstly, fair play to Chelsea. It's never nice to get beat but I thought they were excellent, particularly in the second half.

I thought our level of performance was very very good and against the vast majority of teams in the division we would have won tonight.

The game was probably lost in midfield. Lampard, Mikkel and Essien were always going to make it a tough night for Henderson and Steed. The moronic element of our support will no doubt jump on Henderson's back for being given the run around by Frank Lampard. That's Frank Lampard with about 50 England caps, a whole premierleague career behind him at the top and a cupboard full of medals to show for it. No disgrace for me while Meyler, Cattermole, Muntari would have made a big difference for us.

As for the ref, I actually thought he did ok. Got the big calls right but you are never going to get all the 50/50's. Thought it was a corner leading up to the 3rd goal and noticed our players didn't complain. I also thought our constant appealing and whinging on the terraces was a bit embarrassing and at times our own players looked a bit puzzled by it.

Finally Craig Gordon. I've always said he's the dogs bollocks right from his very first training session at the AOL which I watched back in the day. Now I am of the opninion that he his SAFC's best post war goalkeeper.

That is my take on things as they stand tonight.

Agreed, apart from the linesman on the East Stand side.

He was absolutely appalling and deserved every bit of stick he got IMO.

That performance was by far and away the best I've seen against SAFC this season. I'd just like to know why they haven't been playing like that for the last 3 months.

No shame in getting beat tonight.
