apparently the fryers beamish use are recently retired ( cant remember where from now like ) and were donated. so there is still a few kicking about.

That's the standard joke. We went with the wife's cousin and his bairns and his cuddypaw daughter got the same treatment.

Most elementary school teachers were women in 1913 so she is factually correct and you aren't.

great programme on the telly few month back showing the making of the chippy, they wanted it to be correct in every way..got hold of a very early range..painstakingly restored it but in the end decided it was too fragile and important to use on a daily basis...the one they have in there is more recent one(still owld) from a family chippy in durham somewhere, two elderly brothers closed the shop when their old mam died and they donated it...all the tiles were rescued as well from a scottish chippy if i remember rightly.....also showed a restoration of a horse drawn chippy van that used to be used around the area ...great stuff..

Spent a lovely hour sat outside Sandra Minchella's last night eating fish and chips with curry sauce, watching the sunset. Very civilised.

Fields chippy at Esh Winning still do them the same, beef dripping on a coal range, Lush.

Definitely worth waiting for. Beamish fish and chips is what my eldest asked for on his birthday last year
