    Default 3m for Onuoha?!

"Bruce has also been quoted a price of £6m for defensive target Nedum Onuoha, which is double the amount he wants to pay."
    Sunday Sun

This can't be true, is it? Onuoha = Collins?

A point of clarification here. Bruce has nothing whatsoever to do with how much is bid for any player.
He tells Quinn/WAlton which players he'd like and they go away and do the haggling. That's the same at all clubs and has been for years.
The spoilt brat we had in charge before Short sorted him out, stamped his feet and cried a bit top get crap players in on whopper fees and wages ( what RK wants Rk gets ), but we have a proper manager and proper set up now.
SAFc at the last transfer window showed quite clearly they have got the hang of pitching bids just right, as evidenced by the the likes of catts, bent, Turner, Cana.
Do people seriously expect we'd put in a laughably low bid for a player rated much higher?
Seems to me there is a tendency for Bruce to be blamed for bogus transfer dealings failing.
If we are failing in any bids people need to point fingers at Quinn/Walton/Short.
All clubs are belt tightening, and given the amount we spunked on shite prior to Bruce's arrival it should be no surprise if we aint as flush as we thought.

You have no idea it's any different now, to how it was under Keane with regards who makes the decisions on how much we pay - it's just another rant towards Keane, whilst Bruce (in your eyes) can do no wrong.

If you think the manager has no input on valuations - then or now you're dreaming and if you remember Premier passions you'll remember the way I say it happens, is the way it has been for years.

I doubt anyone 'wants' to pay an amount of money for a player, if SB has named him as his target then its up to the club how much they pay i would have thought. SB could give them an idea but I would have thought the club would have asked SB how much of a priority he is. If he is a a top priority then they will decide how much they pay.

Anyway its the Sunday Sun so this thread is pointless

So you believe Bruce tells Quinn/Short how much to bid, and that is based on what you saw in premier passions??
    Interesting.
Some might suggest it is precisely the input that managers of Reids ilk had into transfers in those days that has changed things around.
I think you'll find that managers are kept at arms length to avoid the proliferation of brown bags stuffed with used notes.
Bids have to be made officially by one club to another not cosy chats between managers. It's even more so the case with those clubs that are publicly listed because of the accountability re expenditure, hence why levy is so prominent at Spurs, because he answers to a BoD.
But hey it's Premier Passions so you must be right. No chance that such a pristine chap like Reid would want to pull the woll over Fat Bob's eyes is there.
    Milton Nunez anyone.
Accountability was obviously a thing RK wasnt comfortable with. Not suggesting he was iffy, more that he wouldnt tolerate questionning of his football nous.
