Spurs H
Everton A
Arsenal A

Very tough run of games, aim for about 7 points? Beat Spurs nd Liverpool, and hopefully a draw against Everton. But after that, we have 7 very winnable games, Wigan, WBA, Wolves and Fulham at home, and Birmingham, West Ham and Bolton away. The last seven games are winnable if we continue as we are and could see is make a late push towards 6th.
Anyone agree?

Re: now til May
Knowing Sunderland we'll probably pick up 12 points out of the next 5 games and then get walloped by the likes of Wolves and West Ham.

Re: now til May
We need to ensure we play the 4-5-1 system away from home that served us so well earlier on in the year. Given we havent many striking options this shouldnt be too hard to achieve.
We rose to the challenge in the first part of the season with a tough run of games, and I expect us to do the same this time.

I agree in principle. What I worry about is that we'll get demolished against the 5 sides you've mentioned and morale will drop.
Sunderland are too unpredictable to make any kind of predictions about how we'll cope, though. So I'll just be keeping me fingers crossed every week, and I'll start paying more attention to the table nearer the end of the season.
Unfortunately, we have a tendency to be bottlers, so i don't think a constant focus on getting that 6th place is good for the team.

It's a tough set of games to be bedding in a new midfield, with one key part of it (Muntari) being far from match fit and "in tune", and several long term absentees to come back too.
Still fancy us to beat Spurs and Liverpool at home, and get a draw at Everton though, so that's 7 points.

So true. I wish the harder looking games were mixed in with the more straightforward ones. The fixture list this season has thrown up a few blocks of difficult fixtures, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, then Spurs, Chelsea, Everton and now this block of 7 with possibly the exception of Stoke.
I would like to know who does the fixtures because I have noticed how Newcastle play a maximum of 1 of the top sides in the first 2-3 months of recent seasons, giving them a chance to get some points on the board, whereas we often play 2 or 3 in our opening 6 games.

Spurs and Liverpool are eminently winnable at home; despite the return of "King Kenny" I remain to be convinced that Liverpool are anything other than distinctly average and no reason SAFC should be overawed by them.
Everton away is one of our bogey grounds, so anything is a bonus.
Arsenal away will be difficult; have a go and see what happens. Sit back and we'll get walloped.
Citeh are a collection of individuals rather than a team; as per Arsenal.
Just imho
