Default Best place to look for private sector jobs

in the Sunderland area? I'm a country ruining public sector arsehole currently and have been since Uni. It's a doddle to find and apply for NHS jobs as they are all on one manky great big website and I've never had to look private yet so want some pointers.

I work in Jesmond at the minute and can't be arsed paying £50 a week in petrol anymore so fancy something closer to home. Naff all in the usual public sector places I look.

So, does the Echo have a jobs night type thing or are the websites Monster et al. the best place to look? Or something else.

I know I could google it but I thought there might be a bit more specialised knowledge from some on here.

Thanks in advance. Any 'hilarious' replies will be met with disdain.

    Scruffy student scrounger.

I usually try on totaljobs, cwjobs (computing), jobserve etc.

I am also fed up of funding Gideon's sludge fund and my latest plan is to find a job closer to home as the commute is shoite and expensive.

    Jobcentre website
echo/shields Gazette/ Chronicle website I think allthe jobs from the papers go on there.
Jobserve/Monster etc, some stuff on Gumtree as well.
Some companies only advertise on their websites so might be worth checking the websites of businesses in the sector you want to work in.
May also be specialist sites depending on the sort of job you want.

Basically a bit more effort needed.

Look in the private sector, if you can find one. Newspapers have never been a very good place for jobs in my experience.

Definitely more effort finding them but that's no problem, keeps me busy. I just wanted a few quick options to start with. Hopefully I'll not have to put up with the Tyne Bridge traffic much longer.

    Try the Tyne Tunnel instead.

Are there not any relevant agencies for your line work in Sunderland?

All jobs down here seem to go through agencies, although first port of call is the websites mentioned like.
