What's this?

We moved into a new house just under 4 months ago.

The missus (nee pics) has been doing some tidying and cleaning today and has found this orange (crystally type) stone thing cellotaped to the wall just above the skirting board in the right angle where the skirting board meets the door frame.

Any idea what it is?

or soem kid mucking about.. be type of thing my little ones would do.. give them aroll of sticky tape or blutac and stuff woudl be bunged everywhere
