    Default Jack Colback

    I hate him.

Fucking outstanding and I mean outstanding today.

The way he handled Adam Johnson was different class, he deserves every single plaudit heading his way.

I've been indifferent to him overall, but today he showed he could play LB, and if I was MON, that is where I'd play him. If he can keep up that standard, the position should be his.

I noticed AJ switched to the left wing more in the second half but got little joy there either. Gardner had a great game.

To be honest, I thought those two put our other backs to shame today.

......I've always rated him .....he does the boring but essential things on a football pitch ...knits everything together and allows the more skilled players to strut their stuff ...he will only get better and MON knows exactly what he gives our team, (even if too many fans around me in the North Stand don't)

Today he was excellent (as was everyone else) but he's surely not a full back in the longer term - no reason however why he won't go on to be a cracking midfielder for us though!

The fact City tried to dribble through them played to their strengths, rather than beat them with pace/ one touch & whip it in. Either way top marks, was a big ask.

Always looks very calm and his versatility suggests a great confidence in his own ability and a good knowledge of the game.

I just feel he needs a bit more attacking verve to be a CM and a bit more physicality to be a LB, both traits can be nurtured and i really hope he gets as much game time as possible to develop.

First half it very much looked like they had looked at our team and identified colback at lb as the weak link- they consistently played it through johnson and ignored samir nasri, then when he had no look swapped them over. And still colback held his position and did everything exactly right. Our victory today is easily as much, or more, due to colback nullifying two of the best players in the league as it is to ji putting the ball in the back of the net.

Absolutely first class display, BUT I wouldnt ever play him as full back again. Its pretty easy to hold your formation when you are so pined back you rarely get forward, but I fear if we played a lesser team he would stray forward too much.
