Default The Open - Royal St Georges, Sandwich

Just wondered if anybody else was going? Sandwich was my patch for 7 years and I loved my time there. I'm there for the Saturday. Out on the piss on the Friday night in Canterbury. I'll be wearing the stripes, but give me a shout if anybody is going and I'll come and say hello and buy you a beer.

I'm not playing man I'm watching.

I've no idea if you can pay on the gate. I don't even like golf much I just love the atmosphere. We got talking to Gazza last time. It was a few years before he went totally mental. He clocked the stripes and came over for a chat. Bit of friendly piss taking but he was genuinely pleased to meet somebody from the North East and was a top lad. We left him in the beer tent where he didn't leave and just got lashed. Quite sad to see the way his life went afterwards.

If you want to see any golf, stay at home. If on the other hand you fancy a day getting your pants pulled down from the minute you hand over 55 bin ladens at the gate then go for it.
    Lovely place mind.

Aye I know what you mean and I was only jesting. People dress up for the occasion. Like at cricket matches they wear cricket stuff and at footy matches they wear their team's shirts. I just wear the stripes to make sure I win the bet with my brother in law each time. Did it at the Histon v Leeds Utd match and won the bet (and got a lot of stick on various message boards "... bet he's never been to a Histon or Sunderland match in his life..." etc)

Think you need to dress smart for the hospitality bit but otherwise you can wear owt you want.
