Just been on Talkshite saying he had it minuted at the board meeting at the time that he was opposed to the stadium extension and wanted the money investing into players.

He wasted enough, I'd rather have the current stadium than Flo tbh

And as much as my feelings towards Reid are mixed, he was spot on with that.

Money should have been invested and with further success we could have expanded the stadium after a more sustained period of success. 42000 is a perfectly sized ground for us and it was premature expanding when we did.

Default Reid argued against the SOL extension....

He's on talk shite at the moment, when discussing the proposed plans for the extension Reid insisted that it was put downing the minutes that he was against it and that the money should be put towards team building.

I once met him at a dinner, and he said that he wanted it minuting at a board meeting, that the acquistion of a striker was more important than the north stand extension. iirc it was around that time that we were having to play Don Hutchison as striker because Quinn was injured.

I disagree. Without the stension our ground would be only marginally better than Stoke's Derby's or Leicester's. What did it cost, an extra £10m. We would have no benefits now and a smaller stadium.

We have at least 6 thousand empty seats every week and havent consistently filled it since first opened. It was too premature building it. Investment in the team at the time should have been priority but Murray was intent on having a bigger ground than Newcastle.
