IIRC quite a lot of it was filmed at London Docklands before it was redeveloped

brilliant film indeed, 1 of few that helps empathise the mental challenges each and every soldier goes through - Particulary Vietnam.

Fantastic film until they finish their basic training, then turns shite.

IMO of course.

(the drill instructor made up his insults on the spot as they filmed. There were many times whereby re-takes had to be filmed 'cos the actors would piss themselves!)
