Default Road Advice - Travelling down to the match.....

I'm driving from Aberdeen to Sunderland in the morning for the match on Sunday. Anybody know what the roads are like after Edinburgh, are they clear of snow?

Good on you mate, making the effort to drive down in these conditions the A1 has been much better since the last couple of days but dont know what the forcast is like for tomorrow. You put some fans to shame who live a stones throw away but will watch at the pub or at home on sky.

Makes me laugh how this country grinds to a shuddering halt when it snows. Been in Copenhagen this week, more snow than here and nobody bats an eyelid, life just goes on.

if we had snow and low temperatures as predictably and for as long as they do perhaps we would have resources put into the necessary provision the way they do. As it stands we dont so your council tax goes elsewhere. Last winter was unprecedented...until this autumn . May need to change now, but at the moment its hardly like for like. Council bashing is very fashionable though.

Main roads as far as Fife are fine, OK through Fife on M90 (dont take the short cut via Glenrothes from Dundee instead), Edinburgh city bypass still has some issues, big freeze tonight wont help but no fresh snow. Start of the A1 similar for about 20 miles, neither 'risky' or anything though, just you might be held up by slow traffic there is no way past. South of that is fine. A1 definitely your route rather than Coldstream or A68.

Been up an down the A1 twice this week with the waggon, scary stuff at times but the road was better t'day. Two of us Sol bound on Sunday in the car, dropping the other half's off at Berwick..If you see a bright red Chevy Matiz with black smoke pouring out the exhaust, stop an give's a lift, coz our cylinder head gasket will have gone ...Taking a load up your way ..Inverurie ,on Monday, hope some of the snow's away by then.
