With the current back 4 we may aswell as they're never going to shut anyone out.

I think it's worth giving three up top a go.

Bent and Gyan as the two main men with Welbeck just behind linking the midfield.

Go for it I say. Gyan and Bent have to start every game when fit, as they are our future partnership. But, Welbeck is doing a great job for us at the minute and shouldn't be dropped. We are going to have a problem replacing him at the end of the season, but hopefully he can net 10+ goals for us this season, and push us up the table.
With Turner and Bramble out for the next 4-6 weeks, and Mensah only playing on and off, we will have trouble stopping other teams from scoring. We might as well temporarily (4-6 weeks) adopt the old Newcastle tactic of not worrying about the defence, let the other team score as many as they want as long as we score more!

Fecking hell! It has only been about 2-3 weeks since we asked Bruce to change from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 and now we are asking him to change AGAIN!
