Would anyone care to offer me some job help?

I'm basically supposed to be on a training course doing IT but in reality they just sit us down on a computer to do job search. That's all fine but the course is going to last 3 months and there just isn't enough jobs to apply to.

Last week was my 1st week and in that week I...

• Sent out 100+ cv's to random companies.

• Applied to every job I could on Job Centre Plus

• Applied to every vacancy on apprenticerships.org, jobsite and connexions

• Called companies up asking about vacancies

• Handed in CV's to shops

So basically i've ran out of things to do, anyone got any good sites for jobs in the North East?

Don't envy anyone looking for work atm. I had about 3 months searching and there was nothing a couple of years back, especially when you're young with limited work experience like I had. Good luck anyway.

First slow down and plan what you are doing. Sending out an application/cv in a scatter gun effect might work but probably won't unless you hit very lucky. Target the companies in a plan i.e write to Banks/Building societies this week, councils and Governemtn next, educational isnstitutions, next etc,

You also need to sit down and prepare a taylored CV for the job you are going for You haven't said that in your OP. Sell yourself on the form and point out what your acheivements are but don't lie, and why you want that particular job, offer some incentives for the company to emply you. It may be that you work a couple of weeks/months for half/no pay and when you get a rejection - if you are interested in that company/job see if you can get to speak to the person who made the decsion and get some feedback. It shows that you are not just a random gis a job person but are keen to work there. It may not work everytime but someone might put you on a waiting list.

Sorry its not more helpful and very general but each persons recruitment plan has to be taylored for them.

keep sending to the same companies mate until they either give you a job or stove your head in with a ball peen hammer
