    Default Crowtree Leisure Centre

    Memories:

Being the 5th person ever to go on the Hydroslide
Chester's Play Park (with Dragon's Lair at 50p a shot!)
Getting threw out of the pool for my shorts splitting
My first 'neck on' with some bird from Seaburn
The 'town' casuals being there every night
Queues up the ramp to get in on summer holidays
The little shop that sold Crowtree memorabilia?!
My mate being carted off to the eye infirmary after being hit in the face with a squash ball

Shame to see it in its current state.

Ice skating on a friday night, it seemed most of the towns youth were there. Learned to swim in there, loved the massive diving pool with the glass window to see people. The heat as you went from upstairs to where the pool was, my uncle more or less lived there when i was a kid so i spent alot of time in there on the playmats etc, watched the sunderland basket ball team in there too. Many a birthday party was had in there, was a great place when i was young almost magical in the amount of shit to do. As i say my uncle more or less lived there in the gym and the squash courts so the people who worked there often let me in for free to see him play squash etc the above viewing bits. Got my first look at boobs and female parts in there too.

You used to get voucher books for the leis in the summer holidays that you could use for the various stuff in there, almost always Chesters Play Park!

Smuggling in booze to the ice rink on a Friday night, they used to sniff your cans of pop!

    The waves!

Disgrace what's happened to the place now.

I remember when we used to hand our coloured bands in after our light flashed up but sneaked back in and stayed in the water so the attendants would not see us without a band and kick us out.

Also onetime we were trying different ways to dive and our mate(you know who I mean mini) shouted "Do this" and ran and dove into the pool with his hands down his side, he resurfaced and shouted "No don't" then loads of blood started running down his head, we just burst out laughing before calling for an attendant

Slipping over in the ice rink and while on the floor someone accidently skated their blade into the gap between my fingers, causing a big cut.

The smell of the chippy opposite the leisure.

meeting the townies to to go looking for a bit of pre-match football bother with opposite fans.
