Dodgy torrents
where you download a film, and it says 'to view this please download this media player' and it gives you some poxy little media player and a link to it.
Always a massive con? I assume they are, but just asking you more 'techy knowledgable' folk.

It's a con,the player or codec (it's usually one or the other) is usually a trojan.
If you can't play it with http://www.videolan.org/ then it's a fake (VLC has all of it's own codecs pre-installed).
