If Crystal Palace do disappear what happens to their place in the league? Do Wednesday retain their status or is someone else promoted upwards?

It could, theoretically, work all the way down to non-league Steps 4 and 5, where you encounter the first set of leagues where promotion / relegations isn't necessarily automatic.
In all likelihood, however, the Conference would continue with one less club, as they did for a fair bit of last season with the demise of Chester City.
