Default Where can we realistically finish next season?

    The teams above us were
    Chelsea
    Man U
    Arsenal
    Spurs
    Man City
    Villa
    Liverpool
    Everton
    Birmingham
    Blackburn
    Stoke
    Fulham

I think on our day we are better than Fulham, Stoke, Blackburn and Birmingham. I would be very happy with 9th but we have to maintain our current home form and improve dramatically away from home. If we don't will Bruce be given the time to get it right?

    12th would be progress.

We will have the usual target of most premier league teams of avoiding relegation. We can claim to have a middle of the table squad so hopefully we can finish somewhere between 9th and 14th.

We could finish 9th at most, IMO.

I do feel we'll finish 11th though, which I'd take right now. It'd be progress.

Everton have to sell before they can buy, thin squad
    Birmingham no money, will struggle
Blackburn selling club ( Bentley, paraguayan at citeh ), no money
Stoke major internal problems, delap a key player???
Fulham no money, Hodgson could be tempted elsewhere, al fayed off?

To have Fulham, Blackburn, Stoke and Birmingham finish ahead of us is shameful. Bruce needs to sharpen up next season tactically or another season of finishing amongst the dregs in the bottom half awaits us

Why mention Liverpools debt all the teams up there are in the same boat. Are you suggesting that because they are in debt we can realistically overtake them next season ?

Fecking happy clapping goons on this site nowadays. Bring back realists like Desfartes I say

I don't agree that it is *shameful* , these are four teams that we should have ambitions of finishing above in the league, but I would suggest that we are also *a target team* for a lot of the other clubs.

Read into it what you will.
Nowhere did I say we would/will overtake Liverpool. The inference I was trying to make was that Liverpool are severly hampered by their debt and their right to dine at the top table ( top 4 ) is clearly compromised.
I believe we will break the 10. I believe that we will go above Blackburn, Stoke and Brum, and at least one of those will drop out of the top 10 ( probably Brum ).
It's not happy clapping. Thanks to Short dipping his hand in his pocket, we are one the few financially sound clubs in the premiership.
The recent thread ( quoted from no less a source than the Times ) suggests that Liverpool, unless someone takes over soon ( highly unlikely ) and who has in the region of 750m+ spare cash swilling around ( highly unlikely ) and with the prospect of Torres and gerrard leaving ( most probable ), are in for a very torrid season.
Unlike some ( many ) I believe all the elements are there for Bruce to eclipse the achievements of the suspect simian featured scouse.

Shameful is the position that messrs Keane and Sbragia left us in and that Bruce has clearly moved us away from.
