Default Transfer Window Brinkmanship - is that what's happening ?

We are now in the last week of the window and SAFC have still got their 2 PL loan cards to play.

Is the reason we have not signed a striker/lefty because Bruce/NQ/ES are confident that we will pick up 2 very good players on loan in the next week ?

I hope so, but the problem is that we won't know for sure until it's over.

I'm 70% confident that in 8 days time the squad will look more balanced in terms of right/left and experience/youth.

Yes, he thinks that kid he signed for peanuts is going to come straight in and solve the problem. That's why he's managed at a high level, because he's stooopid.

Jesus wept, do people really believe managers are so thick (with the exclusion of Paul Merson at Walsall)?

No. You want to think that because we got narrowly beaten off Newcastle, like a lot of people on here. We've got to expand our horizons beyond fourteen miles up the bloody road if we're going to get anywhere.

Would any of this have been said if we'd won? Of course it wouldn't.

Made up on the spot. If the miseries can do it, so can people who are less suicidal.

i think my 70% represented a level of hope just a bit above being a tad concerned that nothing good would happen.

i would describe it as uncomfortably optimistic.
