    Default Buying Jewellery from USA

Was looking at some jewellery online from a website in the USA. If I'm spending a few grand and getting something sent over from the USA will I have anything to pay (customs wise) when I receive it??

    Yep.

The only way around it is to a) get someone you know in the US to take delivery of it then send it on to you in plain packaging.

    OR

    b) take a cheap flight and an empty suitcase and remember to bin all the tags and posts the receipts to yourself. (you don't want to have these on you if you get searched as your "they are my items I brought with me to the US" story will get busted.
