    Default Wales - Camping

Planning a week camping in Wales early June, any recommendations for campsites or villages/areas?

Looking for somewhere with a few pubs, decent walking and hopefully not too many kids. Was thinking Snowdonia area, but don't know the crack.

I like the area around Betwys-y-coed (or however you spell it )

Good walking territory - plus you've got the castles at Carnarfron / Conwy nearby

The north Llyn peninsular is really nice too near Morfa Nefyn

Went camping in Wales a couple of years ago to a cracking big site but had loads of kids running around.

I wwould also suggest Betws-y-Coed area as the perfect base for such a holiday.

Camped in a lovely place in Llanberis which is the main village for Mount Snowdon and the railway, was just a farm up a hill 5 minutes walk from the village. Facilities were quite basic but had a shower, washing machine etc. Was dead cheap and fucking beautiful views of the mountains and lakes. Was as close to wild camping as you can legally get.

Also a few pubs and restaurants in Llanberis proper and handy for buses to Bangor, Caernarfon etc if it pisses down.

It's canny - looks a bit like Keswick but better imo.

Not sure if it would suit your wants but when I asked on here someone suggested shell island (did not go but it looks/sounds good)
