Default So quinny asks for the fans to back him

The next televised game is a sell out, masterstroke!!
Sky will be loving it after the appearance on goals on Sunday, just up to us to roar the team on as requested.
Excellent show of support for the chairman, and excellent pr for the club,
    Well done quinny

I was gonna say like, it has nothing at all to do with the £10 tickets...

That's a good point mate. It does send out a signal. It was noticebale how Quinny, on GOS, did not mention the season card offer for this game even when pressed about ticket prices in general.

A 1:30 kick off, live on TV with a sell out will look very impressive indeed to outside eyes.

Exactly the point, get sky buttered up and theyll be singing our praises, in turn it will get reported by the media on Monday that the fans have done as quinny asked, and there'll be ne mention of the cheap tickets.

I think the OP was referring to the image created to the outside world, rather than the actual particulars of the prices.

Guarantee sky will mention £10 tickets.

Regardless of that tho, it's great that it's a sell out and on tv. I can't wait for it now, just hope the players turn up and get us the 3pts, perfect day !

Nah, Sky don't have a clue - they've got their head up their arses.

Yes, he kept quiet about that.

Its does go to show the effect of cheap tickets though, and that folk will still watch live given the chance of a bargain even when its on TV.

After watching Goals on Sun, its quite clear to me that the recent comments about filling the stadium were to back up the plan of showing off SAFC to the outside world and hopefully attract some investors, a case of ‘Look - we get bigger crowds than Liverpool and Chelsea’.

The statement that 80% of the clubs revenue is generated in the Sunderland area also shows how parochial we are as a club and the need to appeal to outsiders to get the money we need to continue to compete.
