    Default Any drummers on here?

I have started practicing with three other guys with a view to maybe playing in pubs. These would be my first live gigs, anyone got any advice (as opposed to "practice, practice, practice")? What are the main occupational hazards? How do you stop the local scuzzies nicking your gear? What sort of spares do I need?

Hazards? No one wants to help you carry your gear
    Spares? Plenty sticks.

Take a small rug to stop the kit moving forward.

don't try and be flash and show off until you're competent enough to cover when you balls it up, which you will, so just dont.

Try being unlike most other drummers and actually keep in time!

(Bit of a muso joke there. )

Make sure your kit is tuned before you get to the soundcheck. Nowt worse than someone whacking the old pots and pans incessantly with no music to sweeten it. People will leave before you've started.
