    Default Quinn a soft touch?

Keane walked after Short asked questions, despite being in free fall and Keane was arguably of a questionable mental state yet Quinn wouldn't have any critisism at all.

Sbragia was given far too long and we could've easily been relegated due to his negative tactics.....the reason was to get a "world class manager" and yet 2 years on and were here again....World Class eh?

Did he say "world class manager" after Sbragia went? It was certainly said pre-Keane, but I don't remember that at all.

and, yeah, this. It's Short's money that's at risk here, so he'll make any big decisions like this.

Quinny's made a pretty poor choice if he thinks Bruce can take us to the next level. Quinn has worked wonders with his contacts and Short is relying on him to call the shots. Quinn is too involved to see we are not going anywhere with Bruce - I can see Short walking quite soon unfortunately.

Everyone at Sunderland is determined to show they are not Newcastle, ie they are not reactionary and cherish stability.

The problem is a reaction is actually needed and stability is only a good thing if you have a good manager to start with.

So kneejerking clubs like Newcastle and West Brom are now ahead of us because they weren't afraid to make changes despite the criticism from the old boys network they knew they would attract.

Tell me how he walks without selling the club which in turn would entail someone with the cash to buy him out who wants to be here.........

Aye, tough for him to do but he could drastically cut funding, give us enough to survive day to day but end the era of largesse.
