    There's better products that do the same thing... but they don;t have an Apple logo on.

    The main problem with Apple TV is the lack of supported video formats.

    They are excellent if you buy all of your movies through iTunes from Apple, however if your videos are acquired elsewhere then you will spend A LOT of time converting these from divx, avi and mkv to a format that can be played by your apple TV

    I'm an Apple fan, but I can't see why anyone would buy an Apple TV. The features are lagging too far behind the competitors.

    I have one and they are class mate.

    Out of the box, not flexible enough. Jailbreak it (easy), stick XBMC etc. on it and your away.

    Then you can stream HD movies from a PC over the network (wired or at least homeplugs are best) watch tv on it, use stuff like flashsportstreams on it, get your tv catchup stuff on it etc..

    Also you have the handy AirPlay functionality to wirelessly stream pictures/music/videos from iOS devices.

    For the price, spot on.

    No need to do this, install XBMC and/or atv flash and your set.
