Mick McCarthy is eyeing a point-a-game record rather than a potential cash windfall when his Wolves team meet Sunderland this weekend.
With each league place worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, the financial incentive is there for both teams to climb the table by winning their final game.
But McCarthy - who has kept Wolves up with room to spare - claims he isn't concentrating on the potential revenue which can be earned.
"I don't know what we budgeted for," he joked. "If it was 17th and we finish 14th, then great, but if we budgeted for fifth then we've a problem!
"Any extra we can get out of it, fine, but it's not about that. We want the three points to finish on a high note where the fans see us win at home.
"Whatever we get on the back of it, great. We've achieved what we wanted but we are playing 38 games not 36.
"Sunderland can get 10th and that would be a real feather in their cap. They'll be wanting to achieve that.
"And we want to finish on a good note. 38 points - a point a game - would be terrific."
