Re: Mags cashing in on the derby win
Cannot deny that I am sure we printed "2-1" tee-shirts back in 2000 (unless someone can correct me) but a sign that NUFC is still very insecure and in desperate need to find a morale boost in any little thing cannot be more abundantly clear.
I think one problem with clubs producing cheap, tacky, purile tee shirts celebrating a win that in the grand scheme of things doesn't affect things much is it can after one poor display seem worthless.
One win from us or any team from Everton in 8th to Aston Villa in 14th and a defeat from them can send them hurtling down to as low as 14th. Everton or Blackpool will if the mags loose because they are 1pt below them. Bolton will if they beat Tottenham. Fulham will leapfrog the mags if they beat Aston Villa and of course we will if we beat Stoke.
And what mag will want to wear it after they get twatted 3-0 on Saturday by Arsenal and realise they are down about 3, 4 or 5 places because of one defeat and a poor performance? Will they still feel like wearing it after that? Will they still see it as something that was worth it?
