    Default New car tyre design

Different now being tested by Michelin

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it? Well it is fantastic in the extreme!

The bad news for Police and other law enforcement is that stinger spikes will not work on these.

Just think of the impact on existing technology:
    A. no more air valves...
    B. no more air compressors at Petrol stations....
    C. no more repair kits...
    D. no more flat tires...
    E. Less expensive and more money in the drivers pocket.

Been about for a while now in testing. Big problems with the noise apparantly.

other problems I can think off the top of my head:

-lateral stiffness - fairly important for handling (although wiki says it's 5x greater than a regular tyre)
-costs - you'll still have to replace them for worn tread
-durability of the rubber spokes - they'll stretch over time, and if you park up your car for a significant amount of time
-vibration - looks like they're shit over 50mph
-heat - you really don't want tyre rubber to get too hot.

alloys will still curb - worse than before tbh, at least with pneumatic tyres you can have a bulging side profile so they hit the kerb first.

They'll have to cover the spokes with a thin layer of black rubber to make it look more like a conventional tyre. They just look terrible.

    They look like bicycle tyres.
