Default Marco Gabbiadini on Radio Tonight

He said Sunderland fans should be happy as in his opinion we've had a good season this season. I know he's got to create a balanced view but I thought he went on like a complete bellend.

As much as I used to love him, he went down a little in my estimation tonight.

To be fair to him, he's a season ticket holder, so he's just as entitled to his view as us. It's just that he's got a microphone.

Is he? A caller tonight said he paid for his ticket and Gabbiadini doesn't. Perhaps I misheard.

What was the response from the callers?

I felt the caller was being a bit of a bell, myself.

Maybe just maybe he has watched us for so many shite seasons that he feels having almost completed a 4th sucessive season in the top league for the first time in yonks, it has be "relatively" quite a good season.

Because he had a different view to you?

I thought the caller was finding it difficult to get his point across unfortunately. He made some daft points but his underlying argument was fair but Gabbiadini just seemed to brush it away as if the bloke was clueless.

I was almost in disbelief when Gabbiadini said he thought we'd had a good season! Apparently we should be made-up because we beat Chelsea away 3-0. When the caller responded with but we lost 5-1 to Newcastle. Marco replied something along the lines of "That's football".

The consensus seemed to be because we've been average to shite in the past we should be happy with mediocrity. Moreover, he reckons we've progressed this season! Talke about being happy with the bare minimum.

there was very little response because marco talked down the caller, if his opinion differed from his. the caller i heard, was trying to say that there had been no progress. marco insisted that there had been because we had better players than last year, which begs the question why are we in , virtually, the same position as last year.
