    Default Getting a Car Serviced...

Bizarrelly, never actually had this done. Always just drove about in shit heaps and gone for the MOT option £40 or so and then the odds and sods on top to keep it roadworthy.

Anyway the MOT is up for renewal on one of the cars and I'm thinking about going down the service route. Had the car three years, never any probs on an MOT, but it's only got around 50k on the clock and ideally I want to keep it sweet as a second car for a while yet so now may be the time to invest in a little TLC.

For those who get this done regularly, whats the ballpark damage price wise, and do they really do anything different that I can't just do myself (oil change etc), or that won't be picked up on an MOT (if it's drastic). Money is a bit tight at the min, don't want to think I'll be shelling out fortunes on it.

    Cheers folks.

This it depends on the engine size. I am being quoted 200 notes at Kwik Fit for a full service and MOT. Mine is a 1.9 (5 yrs old)

you pay for oil and filter , air filter , spark plugs , fuel filter, the rest is all checks , pay extra if brakes need changed . most of this is easliy done by yourself IMHO.
