    Default Smacking your kids

    Do you do it?

I don't but on occasion I have almost felt it was necessary

I think you are coming close to more or less just admitting you think it's OK to abuse children online.

You aren't the brightest are you marra

    Is it actually illegal?
If so then it's fucking stupid.

    876 pages!

There are people like me who think smacking is wrong. Full stop.

Then you get the people who say smacking " never hurt them".

I was hit, and it did hurt me.

Yes and I've never abused them.
You might like to follow my excellent example.

Did it hurt you mentally or just physically?

Put me down for the "never hurt them" category (although some would argue)

I used to smack their hands but don't even do that now, there are better ways to discipline a child than smacking them, as I have discovered.

Mentally and physically. Sometimes the physical wasn't that bad. But why should I have my head whacked against a wall because I dared argue with my sister (ages 10 and 6). Why should I have been beaten with a stick age 16 (because I said his hand couldn't hurt me any more (teenage bravado)). I've had a drink tonight and being far too open. My Dad is nearing the end of his life now and these things are rearing their head. Should I forgive him, or should I not grieve him?
