Default Paulo Da Silva To Leave Sunderland

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...708766,00.html

    Quote:
Sunderland are understood to have given Spanish club Real Zaragoza permission to speak to Paulo da Silva.

The Paraguay international has failed to settle on Wearside and has struggled to make an imprint on Steve Bruce's team.

This is in stark contrast to his standing at international level where he played an integral part in helping his country reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup last year.

Bruce has a plethora of defensive options having recruited Michael Turner, Titus Bramble and Nedum Onuoha on-loan, which has further limited Da Silva's opportunities.

Da Silva has made just one appearance this season having played 21 times in his first campaign following his move from Mexican side Toluca.

Meanwhile, the Black Cats are making progress in their bids to sign both Stephane Sessegnon and Sulley Muntari.

Will look great in Spain, pity it hasn't worked for him here.

I like his attitude, especially when warming up (if that isn't too stupid, but hear me out!).

He was always very enthusiatsic, even though he clearly wasn't gonna get on, and always interested in the game. A few times, in the last few mins of a match when we were chasing a goal, the ball went out towards the SW corner and I saw him sprint over to in front of the away fans to grab the ball and get it back to Gordon quickly, like an over excited ball boy. Love it.

One of many who seems to have changed his tune...again.

I distinctively recall several on here for some time bemoaning how bad he is. Now the tea and sympathy is being rolled out for Paulo.
