Default Contradictions between U21 reporting and premier league

isnt it funny how all of these amazing superstars who play in the premier league are all of a sudden battling against the odds as england u21 players

hyped up in the premiership but regarded as poor in a restricted age tournament

    bizarre

Same with the main team though with Gerrard, Lampard, Terry etc hyped up and then they look average for England.

TBF most of the "superstars" have been withdrawn from the squad or are England regulars. this is really the B team.

Henderson was getting slated on the BBC text commentry, I seen a bit of it which read something like 'Jordan Henderson gives the ball away on the edge of the area, he hasnt covered himself in glory so far tonight'

Only about half the team play on a regular basis for their club teams but putting that aside it's never going top help if you start playing a full back on the wing and a centre half in central midfield. Pearce isn't a good manager and never will be.
Oh and I agree they aren't that good anyway but Pearce was never going to help the situation, much like David Platt was fucking awful at it as well.

Decent strikeforce though in Sturridge and Welbeck, wouldnt mind seeing them 2 up front for us.

im not particularly treferring to how they play, just the medias change in tact

its like when its the premier league they have to promote it, and when its u21s the same pundits are banging on about how far we are behind other countries

    total hypocrisy

The u21s seem to mirror the experience of the full England team in tournaments.

Start off with a sense of confidence.
Quickly degenerates into depression when preformances are flat.
Then resignation that its not going to get any better.
Stare blankly at the screen while the commentators make things worse
Finish off totally fed up in the knowledge that no one can fathom out why this failure re occurs time after time.

This current crop will be taking us to the next 2 world cups.

    Ah well.

It is a common myth that the current Under 21's go onto play regularly for the full side. Very few actually do probably 1 or 2 of these at most.
