Default All this "He was only on 35k a week" bollocks

Doesn't really matter if it was 35k, 55k or 75k ... it boils a lot of people's piss that anyone could give it all that badge kissing/shirt slapping/wannabe a legend crap when it all comes down to pure greed.

Darren Bent is not alone. The vast majority of professional footballers are greedy whores who have been allowed to suck the life out of the game and basically take the piss out of the average football fan who contributes a lot to their excessive and undeserved salaries.

Football has truly sold its soul to the devil and yet its football fans who are still the gullible mugs paying for it.

I would be shocked if he's only been getting £35k/week, in the current market we would never keep players like Bent or even Jones for that matter.

FFS Robbie Keane is demanding £65k + from Brum

    this is exactly the point.

without all the slavver, it would be no problem at all with him leaving.

however he has chose to treat safc and the fans as mugs

no doubt villa will be getting the same treatment, in the next few weeks

There was no way he was on anything near £35,000 IMO, you would imagine that is less than Ferdinand, Richardson, Gordon, Gyan and possibly even Malbranque and Turner.

I'm pretty sure Bent will have been the 2nd highest earner at this club, and the highest until Gyan came along.

Jones must have had a pay rise to go to Stoke? We must be poor payers.

As of 2010 the British Prime Minister was paid (by the taxpayer) a gross salary of 142,000 pounds a year paid for by the entire population. Granted, he/she probably has other perks. However, try to logically explain the value to the country of a Prime Minister against that of a Premier League footballer who is paid the same amount in a month or less by a population of approximately 40,000 people.

I know some will say that a footballer's inflated salary is worth it as he brings joy to many people's faces. Well, I don't see many tears of joy spilling from people's eyes in Sunderland right now.

Footballers take advantage of a system that has developed since the inception of the Premier League and the extra revenue brought into the game. Wouldn't it be nice if collectively clubs and players had taken less and given back more, so that ticket prices would be more affordable for those who have loved the game their entire life. Even the facilities at the ground could be improved with the vast amount of money invested in the game.

Sadly, and it's not a recent development, football fans are no longer supporters of their local football club but increasingly large businesses. The community aspect is touched on by the clubs, but in reality the effort is pitiful.

Football as we used to know and enjoy .... R.I.P.
