Default Jordan Henderson - Debut Was Difficult

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...513653,00.html

    Quote:
Jordan Henderson admits he found the going tough on his England debut against France on Wednesday.

The Sunderland midfielder was drafted into the fold by Fabio Capello on the back of a number of assured performances at club level.

However, the 20-year-old struggled to reproduce that form on the international stage, with the French able to dominate in the middle of the park.

Henderson accepts that he still has plenty to learn if he is to become a Three Lions regular, but he believes he can take plenty from his first showing for his country.

"It's a little bit difficult compared to what I'm used to," he conceded.

"It's my first cap but I'll learn a lot from the game and I'll keep pushing on and doing well and get another chance."

He added: "I think I can do a bit better going forward and influencing the game.

"I've taken a lot out of the game and (learned from) the top-class players that are in France's team."

Henderson hopes he will not slip back into the shadows following his outing against France, as he thoroughly enjoyed his first taste of life on football's biggest stage.

"It was a really good feeling," he said.

"I couldn't wait to get out there and just play, really.

"It's a massive achievement but I don't just want one cap. I want to keep building on it and hopefully I can do that."

What else can he say to the press to be honest, he can't slag the other players or the manager.

Because there are none, of course he found it tough. Its alot harder for a centre midfielder to come in there at a young age and shine on his first cap. Its one of the hardest places to shine on the pitch when your so young.
