    Default Practising set pieces

Do we do this in training? We can't defend them and rarely looking dangerous attacking from them.
Its basic stuff that we should be able to cope with.

As we have no one who can take a corner that does nt hit the first man, how can we practice defending them? I reckon it has something to do with why we are so bad at defending them.

Aye of course we don't,we are the only club in world football that doesn't practise set peices.

Have a fucking word with yourself man,of course we practise them and stop over-reacting losing to a team competing in the Champions League. We finished 13th last season and are well on course to better that this season, get a grip.

I'm well aware we're on for a good position in the league, and I wasn't over reacting to todays result. We haven't defended set pieces well for a long time, and Richardsons free kick against Chelsea was a surprise because generally speaking when we get a free kick or corner in an attacking position we do nothing with it.
We've got quite a small team which doesn't help, how many of our players are over 6 foot?

I panic when the oppo has a corner a freekick or even a fucking throw in next to our box. WTF has happend to a defence that kept 11 clean cheets out of 22.?

I said the same to me mates yesterday. We either hit the first man or the back post where nobody is.

Muntari seemed willing yesterday and got one to Sessegnon at the back post.

Of all the threads I expected to see this morning, this one along with "Gordon, die please" is the one I knew would be there.

The thing is though, it's true. Take Richardson's cheeky one last week out of the equation and you have to say our inability to defend them and hit the target when they are for us, has become a real and long running embarrassment.

It's got to the point where I know what is going to happen now when we win one. Even to the point where a lot of our free kicks lead to a counter attack by the oppo' after they are slammed into the wall.

Our attacking set pieces are what infuriate me more than anything else.

Teams like Stoke and Blackburn have made a living from scoring set pieces and yet we are an absolute joke compared to those teams.

We always struggle to beat the first man so why not stick a couple of players on the front post? And why do we never have anyone challenging the 'keeper, especially when someone dodgy as fuck like Gomes is in goal? It's basic stuff and I'm amazed Bruce and his coaching staff don't appear to be doing anything about it.
