Is on Saturday 14th May, the week before the season finishes.

I know its happened before, but its still sacrilege in my eyes.

Showpiece game that has always, and should always, bring the curtain down on the season.

I challenged this yesterday but it seems it is correct

Personally I cant remeber it happening before let alone other fixtures being scheduled for the same day but it looks as if two things have conspired to leave the fa no option. Firstly the world cup going on into the 2nd week of July means that the season can not start the new season any earlier than planned, availability of players etc, and more crucially the championship league final is being played at wembly on the saturday immeaditly after the season finishes

I agree it should not happen but one more nail in the fa cups coffin I'm afraid

maybe if they played more than two premiership games in March, the season would end before May the 14th.

It also means that the teams reaching the final will have to rearrange at least two games.. near the end of the season.

It's probably cos the CL final is at Wembley next season. They wouldn't want anything affecting pitch preperation. Probably.

Correct, the Champions League is 28 May, so gives Wembley 2 weeks to get ready, don't know what is happening with the Play Off finals though as they are usually Bank Holiday weekend

The football league finishes on May 7th so I can't see the finals being delayed until after the Champions League final.

A once great competition that has lost prestige every year since the inception of the premier league. A shame that the morons who run our game don't care one iota about tradition and the history of the game.
