My experience is they are shit, kept getting appointments cancelled, as dis the wife, so we ended up going private. A guy at castle Eden, really good at what he does.

Waited just under 8 weeks after GP requesting appointment.
I got a letter from Physio Appointments a couple of days after seeing my GP in late November 2010 and then heard nothing more so in late Jan I called in to my GPs and was told how busy the the Physio Depts were and I would just have to wait.
Two days later I got a letter from the central Physio Appointments Dept and rang up to see a Physio at my local GP Surgery a day or so later.
Depending on how long you have waited it may be worth contacting who ever has referred you.
    Hope this helps

I ended up going private to some Canadian blokes in Whitley Bay. Used to do a lot of SAFC players, including Quinny. Big rugby fans. At least one of them went back to Canada though, maybe even both.

I got a referral from the orthopedic surgeon rather than my gp so I was straight in but they only did weekly appointments & I was expected to fill in the rest of the programme on my own at home.

I was referred after an accident so straight in. 2 appointments a week at Newcastle Road for a couple of months IIRC. First one I saw wasn't up to much, second was better.

Would have preferred summat a bit more 1 to 1 and maybe more intensive but the lass I eventually ended up with seemed to tailor my sessions a bit more than the first one.

I'd have preferred more sessions but they seemed to think they had taken me as far as they could........
