    Default Signings from relegated clubs

As usual we are being linked with players the three relegated clubs, Blackburn especially. Last year we brought in a shitload of them and it didn't really improve us - Vaughan, Gardner, etc.

Suppose Larsson is a slight success but.....

can anyone think of any other signings for us from a newly relegated team that actually worked out?

We did finish fairly comfortably in the end

Should've finished higher if the players hadn't taken their foot of the gas

We were awful for two thirds of the season, only a miracle spell from O'Neill for a couple of months kept us in this division.

The squad needs a lot of work, and average, ''bargain'' signings from relegated clubs aren't really going to cut it.

I've just had a text off my mate saying he's sure he's just seen Fletcher fully suited wearing shades being drove from Durham towards Sunderland in a 4x4. However I've pointed out that even ugly birds look deceiving in shades so it probably wasn't him.

What about a signing from us when we were relegated...?

Kevin Phillips... went for a pittance, giving Southampton the bargain of the century - a striker getting them almost 1 goal in every 2 games that only cost them a little over 3m quid.

I'm sure there must have been plenty over the years.

We didnt do too badly with Niall Quinn or Alex Rae for example.

Michael Carrick, Jermaine Defoe, Damien Duff, Michael Owen, Coloccini, Scott(y) Parker, Paoulo Di Canio, Matthew Upson, Mark Viduka, Alan Smith, Darren Bent

All these have played in sides who've been relegated from the Premier League.

Good players can play in relegated sides.
