Been to Belsen and was told the same thing. Didn't see any like, but was also told it was because the birds don't like the pine trees that surround it.

I've been, and to be honest, can't remember about the birds or not.
Just can say, hand on heart, that my perspective on so many things changed that day. And that's not said to be overly sentimental, flippant, or anything else like that. It's a horrible, horrible place, that strangely I would go back to tomorrow if I could.
