they continuously check you every 30 seconds to see if you still have the robot moves, check if your brain is still switched off and to see if you havent topped yourself yet.

So now you have to graft for 6 weeks to even qualify for a line trial? What are you doing for these 6 weeks if not working on the line?!

Even when I started there in 2000, it was a long process to get in. First interview, second interview, skills centre thing, then line trial, then medical then finally a start I think.

They take the piss something royally there like. As for the employment figures, that wouldn't surpise me. It annoys me the way every time time they take on a few hundred that they give the impression they are employing yet more people into their lovely French family. When the reality usually means they recently layed off more. That is never mentioned though.

Nissan are taking on 500 say the media, yeah only for a few months though!

What's the craic with the electric vehicle part of the plant. Much progress there??

My brother is actually on this now, think hes probs around 4/5 weeks into it. Still no word on if he will be kept on permanently though hes desperate for a job so fingers crossed it comes off for him.

Would be interested to hear from anyone else that has gone through it to see how many are kept on etc if anyone has any experience on it
